Yes. The Battleship Texas Foundation runs an overnight program aboard USS TEXAS. This accomodation includes a bunk in a cooled space (bring a sleeping bag), breakfast (bring dinner and/or snacks), a shower, two guided tours, and late-night gaming. GM

  1. As a GM, what do I need to bring to the ship?

Bring whatever you need to run your game, including the basics like dice and tape measures, because not all players will bring their own. You should assume that if you are running a miniature wargame that you will be responsible for all the miniatures you need to make the game work. If your event requires players to bring their own "toys" then please make that clear in your event;s description. We will provide tables, chairs, and felt table cloths.

Environment

  1. Is the ship air-conditioned?

Most of the ship is not air-conditioned.  Some space has been air-conditioned, to accomodate the library/archives, staff offices, and break rooms.  The rather active overnight program, run by the Battleship Texas Foundation, also has several compartments available to them that are air-conditioned.

Each year TPWD and the BTF strive to add more air-conditioning, as budgets and priorities allow.

We strive to house as much of our wargaming and other events/attractions associated with this convention within those compartments that are air conditioned..
